The WAIS Workshop will be held September 27-29, 2009 at the Pack Forest Conference Center near Mt. Rainier, Washington. This will be a joint workshop with FRISP (Forum for Research in Ice Shelf Processes). The International Polar Year saw these two groups hold their workshops jointly (2007 in the US and 2008 in the UK). Both were extremely productive meetings. Because of this and the central importance of ocean-ice interaction to both research groups, it was decided that 2009 should be another joint meeting.
